CONFERENCE POLICIES

Technology
  • Use of any type of technology during committee session is prohibited including laptops and outside the committee room
  • Resolutions may be typed and printed between committee sessions
Dress Code
  • Please dress professionally in western business attire
Prewritten legislations and Plagiarism 
  • Any type of prewritten legislation such as draft resolutions, clauses, directives or language of any kind is strictly prohibited
  • Using any kind of legislation or clauses from previous MUN conferences is prohibited
  • Plagiarizing from websites or academic sources in either the position paper or resolution papers is prohibited 
  • Draft resolutions can be written after the beginning of committee session 1
  • Any violation of any of the policies can be reported to the Secretary General
  • Violations of any of the polices will result in being disqualified from getting an award
Position Papers
  • Position Papers will be submitted to the Chair at the beginning of the first committee session
  • Delegates who do not submit position papers will not be eligible for awards
  • Format for tradition committees
    • Minimum 1 page double-​spaced paper per topic
    • There is no maximum, but the chair will look favorably towards concise papers
    • Must be in MLA format with a Works Cited
    • Must be in 12 point font with a header with committee, nation, and topic
    • Should provide a summary of history of the country relevant to the topic, what the country has done in relation to the topic, and potential solutions for the future
  • Format for crisis committees
    • 1 page double-​spaced paper
    • There is no maximum, but the chair will look favorably towards concise papers
    • Must be in MLA format with a Works Cited
    • Must be in 12 point font with a header with committee and person
    • Should explain character position, situation at hand, previously attempted solutions, potential solutions, and actions you will take during committee
